Classic Rock

Hard Rock Café, Worli
The cafe is undoubtedly the best place if you want to listen to good ol’ rock from the 60s to the 90s. They also have bands performing for people who love gigs. Hard Rock Café’s regulars go to the café especially for the music and burgers.

Road House Bluez, Andheri West
Road House Bluez plays a variety of music from the 60s and the 70s and often plays modern-day rock too. If that’s not enough to prove their inclination towards classic rock, their walls feature posters of Jim Morrison, Bob Marley, Paul McCartney and Jimi Hendrix and their menu cards are shaped like vinyl records.

The Irish House, Lower Parel
Popular because of its beer and long happy hours, Irish House is always buzzing with people. With house music playing by day, the pub worships rock music by night. The pub popularly plays classic rock favourites like Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and The Doors too.

Toto’s Garage, Bandra West
The go-to place for rock music in Bandra has to be Toto’s Garage. The 25-years-and-above-only pub plays only rock music from the 80s and 90s. You can expect Bon Jovi, Black Sabbath, Rolling Stones, Metallica and Rammstein from the 90s. Go in early to get a table as the crowd soon trickles in for the good music.

British Brewing Company, Goregaon East
At the British Brewing Company you can sit and air-guitar to The Beatles, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones and also many tunes from the 70s and 80s. They also screen football matches and serve good pizzas, pastas and sizzlers.

The Bombay Canteen, Lower Parel
Bombay Canteen celebrates old Bombay, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that the play retro sounds. A mix of early funk, blues, soul and 70s and 80s disco with songs by Roy Orbison and Marvin Gaye will entertain you through your meal. Wondering how they celebrate Bombay with music? Mohammad Rafi, RD Burman and Asha Bhonsle croon their hits during the day and the tempo rises with other genres by night.

Monkey Bar, Bandra West
Monkey Bar has people going bananas over its food but they play music that’s thankfully nothing close to today’s music. You can listen to retro classics like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Guns N Roses, Bon Jovi and Dire Straits. Their renditions of popular dishes from different Indian cuisines and good music makes it the right place to go to on a Saturday evening.

Quarter House, Mahim West
Expect a young sharabi Dharmendra to walk-in any minute, because that’s the feeling Mahim’s new bar gives you. Playing retro Bollywood music like Gulabi Aankhein, Jaanu Meri Jaan, we won’t be surprised to see people get up and start thrusting their pelvic to I Am A Disco Dancer. You can also expect raunchy item numbers like Kuwa Ma Doob Jaungi and more. The music might just be the thing that attracts people to visit, apart from the quarter-only service and the food, of course.
