A North London Derby! Excitement in saying that itself 😀 Arsenal will face their first real challenge of the season when they face their North London rivals Spurs today, after confirming their 16th Champions League group stage place, the Gunners will be going into the Derby match on a high after two back-to-back wins, but will be aware of the importance this game holds for them this early in the season as it will help them get into the winning habit too.
Last two seasons saw amazing and respectable comebacks from Arsenal being two goals down and then going on to win 5-2 and it will end up be a close encounter as Tottenham will be looking to redeem themselves at The Emirates.
Arsenal are dealing with a long injury list. There will be a few key players missing in action for the Gunners, they will be Lukas Podolski, who will be out for the next three months after suffering a hamstring injury on Tuesday. Chamberlain will be missing missing again for the next few weeks due to knee injury. Midfielders Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey will be in the team today for the all important game as well as Frenchman Laurent Koscielny who was rested last game due to a minor head injury.
Spurs will be a different side this season as they will be missing their star player Gareth Bale, who is rumored to have already moved to Spanish giants Real Madrid soon.
Bale was the key player in last year’s encounter, and it will be interesting to see what Andre Villas- Boas’ team have in their armoury to take on the Gunners today.
